Nitrox Diver
As anyone with an Open Water certification knows, divers need to keep track of the amount of nitrogen accumulated in their bodies under water so that they do not exceed the non-decompression limit (NDL). Sometimes keeping within the NDL can limit the length of the dive, especially in the depth range 20-30 meters or in case of repetitive dives. One way to prolong the NDL is to breath a gas mixture that contains a higher percentage oxygen and lower percentage nitrogen than regular air, known as nitrox. This course focuses on the theory behind the physiological effect of breathing nitrox, essential safety techniques, as well as proper gas analysis and tank labelling procedures.
We offer several variations of the Nitrox course. You can do theory only without an actual dive, which is the bare minimum which PADI requires. In addition, you can do one or two dives using nitrox tanks.

Prerequisites: Open Water certification (maybe taken concurrently with the Open Water course)
Price:
- ¥ 15000 - theory only
- ¥ 18000 - theory + 1 shore dive
- ¥ 20000 - theory + 1 boat dive (Manza)
- ¥ 25000 - theory + 2 boat dives (Manza or Minna)
- ¥ 27000 - theory + 2 boat dives (Keramas, Itoman, or Hedo)
Where we will dive
The exact diving locations for the Nitrox Diver scuba diving course are subject to the weather conditions and your preference.
We usually do the shore dives at Cape Maeda (Blue Cave), Cape Manza (Onna Village), or Sunabe (Chatan).
If you prefer to do some of the dives from a boat, we can take you to Cape Manza (Onna Village), Kerama Islands, Minna Island, Itoman, or Cape Hedo.
Getting to the dive sites
We offer free pick-up service from hotels in Onna, Yomitan and Chatan. Pick-ups from other locations are also possible upon request. Please inquire.
† Gear rental is not included in the price. You can rent a full set for ¥ 4000 for the duration of the course and a partial set at a reduced rate.
‡ It is possible to select a different number of boat dives during a course than the ones indicated above. In that case the price will be adjusted accordingly.
§ When combining dives from a course with fun dives on a single day, every fun dive is charged as follows - ¥ 4000 per boat dive and ¥ 3000 per beach dive.
