While the origin of its name is open to debate, what everyone agrees on is that Popeye is one of the most beautiful sites around Minna Island. Often times after surfacing from a dive here, divers admit that they had rarely seen such an abundance and diversity of healthy corals and numerous playful schools of juvenile fish. As sometimes there is a bit of a current at Popeye, what we quite often do is drift effortlessly along the beautiful reef, while the images change in front of our eyes one by one like in a movie theater. The experience can be hypnotic.
