Kerama Islands

The Kerama Islands in Okinawa is the perfect place to immerse oneself in joy and happiness. On a sunny day, the Kerama blue ocean and the boundless sky above meld into each other somewhere far away at the horizon, while a myriad of islands rising from the emerald waters complete the scenery with their fresh green flora, stunning cliff formations and pristine white sandy beaches. Once beneath the surface, the visibility is stunning. The topography is varied - some dive sites have bottoms with sand so white that it resembles snow, others abound with healthy colorful corals, while yet others have deep rocky crevasses filled with a shower of sun rays. The marine life is also plentiful - it is rare not to encounter any turtles, white tip sharks or rays.

The Kerama archipelago consists of a number of different islands with many dive sites each. Towards the bottom of this page you can find a map of the Keramas and detailed descriptions of individual islands within the archipelago, such as Maejima, Tokashiki, or Chibishi.

For our trips to the Kerama Islands use double decker boats with a shower and toilet on board.
We conduct many of our scuba diving courses in this dive area.
Please note: The dive sites for the day are ultimately selected by the boat captain. Occasionally, when the weather and/or sea conditions are unfavorable, we are unable to make the hour long trip across the open ocean to the Kerama Islands and instead visit dive sites along the western shore of Okinawa mainland. If that is the case, we generally do strive to inform our guests in advance, however every now and then the captain does not make his final call until the morning at the time of departure.
